Our Story

Rooted in Purpose

Initiated by VIKALP in 2020, Bhoomi unites over 5,000 indigenous agroforest producer families across 150 villages in South Gujarat.

BHOOMI” stands for land, “PRODUCERS” are agroforest producers — farmers and farm workers — and “COLLECTIVE” is a collaboration for social and economic empowerment with nature conservation.

Our program sprouts from a social reforestation effort that began in 2016. Over 2,31,586 fruit, forestry, and native trees planted with 5,000+ families offer opportunities for livelihood and extra income, while preserving nature and combating global warming.

More than 500 families have already returned to traditional regenerative agriculture with the support of our Seed Bank and training programs.
